Run To Be and Waltham Forest, the Mayor's London Borough of Culture!

During our last 0-5k beginners' courses, we were approached by a local photographer who was working on a project for the Mayor's London Borough of Culture 2019.

The year will explore the theme Radicals, Makers and Fellowship in a collaboration between local residents, artists and creatives producing a once in a lifetime celebration of life in Waltham Forest.

Naomi Aisha is a photographer living in Highams Park and took up the theme of "fellowship" and wanted to document some of the fantastic stories that come out of the area, focusing on William Morris' pivotal quote that 'fellowship is life.'

So, she joined one of Lindsey's Friday morning classes to capture some images that show how running can empower and build a community.

We loved being part of this project as this is exactly why Run To Be was formed, to empower those who might feel excluded from running and to build a community based on fellowship and support.

And we wouldn't have that without all of you who run with us. So, as always, a huge thank you to all of our amazing runners!
